Benoît Vidal, born in Pezilla-la-Rivière at the foot of the Pyrenees, developed his passion for cooking from a young age, inspired by his grandmother. Deeply respectful of nature and local produce, he built his career in prestigious kitchens, including Goumard et Prunier in Paris and alongside renowned chefs such as Michel Trama, Michel Guérard, and Régis Marcon. He earned and retained Michelin stars throughout his career: at Château de Divonne, Mas des Herbes Blanches, and later at L’Atelier d’Edmond in Val d’Isère, where he achieved two stars. After leaving in 2023, he settled near Lake Annecy and opened Sur les Bois in Annecy-le-Vieux. Within four months, in spring 2024, he was awarded two Michelin stars again, marking a new chapter in his journey.
